Premium Seating and Exclusive Event Spaces

Kelly/Shorts Stadium offers a wide array of premium seating and exclusive venue spaces designed for an exceptional gameday or corporate event experience. These facilities are centered around the West Side Press Box and the recently constructed Chippewa Champions Center.

  • Luxury Suites (West Side): Nine private suites provide climate-controlled, intimate spaces ideal for corporate entertainment or special group gatherings. Suites include premium chairback seating directly in front of the box, private restrooms, and customizable catering options.
  • Club Lounge (West Side): Located on the lower deck of the press box, the Club Lounge offers premium chairback seating with access to an indoor, climate-controlled lounge, featuring specialized concessions (such as Max & Emily’s), private restrooms, and a cash bar.
  • Isabella Bank VIP Club (North End Zone): A 4,000-square-foot premium hospitality area within the Chippewa Champions Center. This club provides an all-inclusive food and soft drink buffet, a premium cash bar, and a unique view of the team entrance/exit to the field, making it one of the most energetic premium experiences in the MAC.
  • Loge Boxes (North End Zone): Sixteen semi-private loge boxes offer a “best of both worlds” blend of suite and club seating, providing covered outdoor seating, personal televisions, and access to premium club amenities.

Venue and Conference Rental

The facilities within Kelly/Shorts Stadium and the adjacent Chippewa Champions Center are available for rent, providing versatile, multi-purpose spaces for the university and the public.

  • Chippewa Champions Center Atrium & Auditorium: The 5,000+ square-foot Atrium features a large video board and full presentation set-up, making it ideal for large receptions, banquets, and exhibits. The facility also includes tiered auditorium seating and over 7,100 square feet of flexible meeting and office space.
  • CMU Event Services: All external events and non-game-day facility usage must be coordinated through the Central Michigan University Events and Conference Services, which assists with booking, rates, and adherence to university policies.
  • Kramer/Deromedi Field Rental: The AstroTurf playing surface may be available for non-contact events, camps, or tournaments, subject to the CMU Athletics scheduling calendar.

Gameday Operations and Fan Services

We provide comprehensive services to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all Chippewa fans:

  • Accessibility: Includes elevator access to all floors, open-captioning systems on video boards, and designated wheelchair/companion seating.
  • Retail: A CMU Bookstore Chippewas Varsity Shop satellite store is located on-site for official merchandise and apparel.
  • Concessions: Traditional and specialty concession stands are located throughout the east and west concourses and the south entrance.
  • Ticketing: A full-service ticket operations facility is located at the stadium for gameday inquiries and Will Call services.
